the 0.01 letter

one letter, most weeks. written the way i'd write to a friend who is also trying to get better at something difficult.

01

what it is

not a sermon.

when i was thinking about starting this, one thing was clear: it must not be serious and performative. it has to be true to me, true to what i care about, true to what i think is valuable.

i see every reader as a companion who is on the journey with me — the journey of going from 1 to 0.01. it is by no means a sermon from someone who is already there. it's an appeal to anyone who wants to walk it too.

what tends to show up

seven things, loosely held.

  • marketing, branding, brand building
  • ai, and its use in ordinary days
  • popular science
  • writing, sometimes
  • drawing, sketching, painting
  • books, and new things launched
  • products, and how they get made

none of these is properly a category. that's intentional. in a time when everything is so structured and polished, it's become almost impossible to tell what was written by a machine and what came from someone's own voice.

02

from the archive

letters so far.

  • 001 journey of understanding unresolved problems the first one
  • 002 what taste actually is, and why it can't be taught quickly soon
  • 003 the difference between finishing and stopping soon
  • 004 drawing badly on purpose soon

the archive fills up as the walk goes on.
